What is Acupuncture?
Acupuncture involves the insertion of hair-thin needles into specific acupuncture points of the body. By stimulating these specific points will allow the body to restore the flow of Qi (energy force), balance the body’s energy to bring natural healing ability and to promote relaxation.
Acupuncture has been practised for more than 2,500 years in China and is an important component of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). TCM is a complex and dynamic therapy that has been developed from centuries of clinical and practical experience. One of the integral components of Chinese Medicine is the Meridian theory.
This network of Meridian (or channels) connects all parts of the body from the skin to internal organs. When the flow of Qi is disrupted, negative health consequences may follow. By correcting the imbalances using acupuncture, one will expect symptomatic relief and help the underlying causes, making it an effective therapy for healing the body as well as to prevent sickness.
Acupuncture can be used to help conditions such as musculoskeletal problem, migraine, arthritis, digestive issue, gynaecological problem, acute or chronic pain, skin problem, respiratory disorder and even neuropathy issues. It is also used to enhance general wellbeing and to relief stress and anxiety.
What do you feel with Acupuncture?
The most common sensations you expect with acupuncture is dull sensation, feeling of heaviness or pressure, or tingling along the Meridians and possibly a deep ache. Any sensations you feel normally dissipate after a minute or two as acupuncture opens up the flow in the energetic pathway.
What is Auricular therapy?
Auricular Medicine is a scientific medical system which can help diagnose different diseases of the body and the mind solely through the ears by examining the ear. The diagnosis is based on areas, zones, lines, grooves and colour of the ear.
Auricular treatments are auricular seeds method, auricular embedding needle therapy or even auricular massage.
Auricular seed therapy involves applying a hard, smooth herbal seed to selected auricular point. By pressing or massaging the seed is to stimulate the point to help various diseases which is painless. Embedding needle therapy involves insertion of needle on tape may produce slight pain but the patient doesn’t need to press or massage the area.
Auricular treatment is very different from body acupuncture because it doesn’t penetrate the body. When the seeds or needles are in place, the patient can help themselves. It has been proven to be efficient in helping the whole body in many levels: physically, functionally, emotionally and spiritually.
